Flight information and upgrades

Your airline

For most cruises featured on this website, flights will be operated by scheduled airlines such as British Airways, Iberia, TAP Air Portugal and Air Malta. Selected cruises may be operated by dedicated charter services.

On selected European cruises we may also operate dedicated charter flights from Manchester and Glasgow. For charter flights we only use reputable airlines such as Monarch using Boeing 737, 757, 767, or Airbus A300, A319, A320 A321 or A330 aircraft. On these departures you also have the option of a scheduled airline(s), for which a supplement may be payable.

All flights are non-smoking and in general, scheduled airlines offer a minimum of 30” seat pitch on European flights and 31” Long haul services. Short haul charter services offer a seat pitch of 28” or more.
All of our dedicated charter flights include meals and a complimentary bar service.

If you purchase any of our optional pre and/or post cruise extensions, then your flight to join or return from the extension will be by scheduled carrier. For certain scheduled services, flights will operate to/from London Heathrow rather than London Gatwick, as detailed in the cruise itineraries.

Upgrade options

You may choose on scheduled flights, for an increased supplement, to upgrade your flights.
On short haul scheduled services, we offer business class upgrades such as British Airways’ Club Europe with which you enjoy extra legroom, fast track security channels, British Airways lounge at Heathrow or Gatwick (and selected overseas airports) and enhanced baggage allowance.

On long haul services we can offer a choice of upgrade options including Premium Economy with benefits including a wider seat with minimum of 38” seat pitch and a private enclosed cabin. Long haul Business Class upgrades such as British Airways Club World, Iberia Business Plus and Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class, all offer a full lie flat bed with Business Class Lounges, enhanced baggage allowances and superior in flight dining.

With many flight upgrades the supplement payable is often cheaper the earlier they are booked.

Regional flights

For added convenience to customers in the north, you can take advantage of our charter flights from an airport closer to home on selected cruises.
On flights to and from Tenerife and Funchal, there is the option to fly to and from Manchester airport (via Gatwick).
On most cruises featuring scheduled services from London Heathrow and Gatwick we can offer connecting UK domestic flights from a range of UK airports at no extra charge.

Luggage

In general, your maximum flight luggage allowance is 20kg per person. However, luggage allowance does vary by airline and your flight destination, our experienced Travel Consultants will be able to advise you on the allowances at the time of booking.
